As National Practice Leader, Financial Lines and Agents—Claims, Smith is responsible for E&O, D&O, Crime, Cyber and M&A claims from coast to coast. Smith reports directly to Executive Vice-President, National Leader—Claims, Glen Hopkinson.

Smith joined BFL CANADA in 2024 and previously managed financial liability claims for insurers, specializing in cyber breaches. Smith also has a legal background, having worked as in-house counsel providing clients with M&A support and strategic litigation advice.
