Main specializations: Maritime and logistics clients including international ship-owners, port authorities, port terminals worldwide, charterers, cargo shippers, tugs, freight and passenger rail carriers, and shipyards. Complex risk management clients with an international component.

After joining BFL CANADA in 2020, with more than 20 years of experience in the marine industry, Frederic now leads the national marine and logistics practice. He also handles a portfolio of medium and large clients and deals with risk managers in various sectors. His experience in the commercial insurance field has allowed him to cover a wide variety of clients operating in several related industries including oil and gas, manufacturing, landowner, forestry, mining, and land and rail transportation.

As a trained lawyer, Frederic assists all of his clients by reviewing the insurance and indemnity clauses of their contracts and provides them with the appropriate recommendations for optimal risk transfer. Having dealt with all North American insurance markets, he has extensive experience in the London market (Lloyds and others) and develops insurance programs tailored to the specific risk profile of each client.

Frederic is very involved in his industry and is a member of the Canadian Maritime Law Association, the St. Lawrence Shipoperators, the Traffic Club of Montreal, the Canadian International Freight Forwarders Association, the Grunt Club as well as several other associations in the transportation and logistics industry.
